matta and 7th ranked ohio state had 9th ranked kansas in house at columbus...the buckeyes down by one in the first half when lenzelle smith junior nails the flush for the buckeyes... but red shirt freshman ben mcclemore then took over for the jayhawks...after a steal he goes in for the jam...he had 22...and kansas wins it....74- 66....in a battle of top ten teams. the bears headed for arizona this afternoon...taking a whole lot of pressure along with them on the flight. it is a must win against the cardinals ... a team that may not be lights out on offense...but is 11th in the nfl on defense...in yards allowed. the cardinals won their first 4 this year..then lost 9 in a row before beating the lions last week.. the bears are favored but it means nothing in the nfl...there are few cakewalks. the bears have lost 5 of their last 6.....if they lose one more its curtains for the playoffs. we have to get to nine win s... he is not good enoug >> i have never been to the playoffs... i understand what losing and winning is... this is a winning organization. we are close. >> more good luck for

the strom thurmond memorial in columbus. and what you did issued a granite dust, you pounds that granite in till it's a fine powder and then you mix it with crazy glue. seriously. you mix it with plain old crazy glue. when it hardens is actually harder than the stone itself. they take that mixture and the pound and two where the letters had been carved to the action of pounded in so it's above the surface of the stone and they have to sand it smooth. then they carve back over the building area. they had to replace -- that was the trick that they could add essie mae's name on the bottom. there was space there, but it's a father of four children and had to change the for to a five. so when they carve back over that building area, if you don't get that granite powder really, really fine, it's got to be fine of that like baby powder, because if you don't when your car back over it it is prone to chipping but if you look closely at five, the i in the five got a chip on a. on the upper right side. and the left side of the v. is all squiggly. it's been shifted there, too. and the standing opene

. kenneth jordan the head of the local chapter of the knights of columbus whose brother died in an auto accident two days ago. ken and his fellow knights have put forth this evening's event and she had been anticipating it eagerly. this evening it is a particular pleasure to welcome mark back to his alma maters. he took several courses with me during his student days but our relationship wasn't completely academic. through the generosity of his father, i was able to accompany him in one of his classmates in travels through poland and the soviet union in the summer of 1985, the summer before their senior year. and on the first day in now st. petersburg, mark, always his father's son, asked if we could sell their great daily mass during our travels. this, we arranged and for me the happiness and praying daily in the soviet union with the gifted students was one of the brightest parts of our journey. mark went on to write a senior thesis on lyndon johnson's war on poverty. his list of achievements and onerous since graduation is impressive. from 1988 to 1995, marks served as the founder an

at this. sacramento, columbus -- the nature of the recovery differs greatly. the pattern that emerges is one which the broader based economies recovered better than those that are narrow. the importance of economic growth cannot be overstated. the second one that does that it talked about as much is the future of u.s. immigration policy that is central to so many things and is one of the underserved policy topics in the united states. the native-born population -- all future population growth depends on what we choose for immigration. given the importance of demographics, this is the issue over the long term. those two things strike me as central to how will play out. it seems to me we have a couple of things. the first is to recognize -- it is time to look for it. the crisis began years ago now. i was once again to the camp of designing clever policies. solve all of these problems. more policy innovation, more new programs and innovation is beginning to make it difficult to figure out what the rules are and move forward. it is time to let markets clear and move forward as fast as we

and i was groying up in columbus. i still call him mayor today. i got to know him when he was in the legislature of the ohio senate and he was in the -- i was in the ohio house. i got to know him better when i was elected here and obviously a lot has been said about dennis. a lot has been said about dennis, about his passion. his -- he softball a man who will continue his mission in other way he ran for president. he wasn't shy about it. he has strong beliefs, beliefs that are different than mine but again, someone you can call a friend. and finally, last but not least, the man who has a different quality than the rest of the four and what i mean by that is, he was the only one of the five who wasn't a legislator before he came to congress. he was a prosecutor. steve latourette. ironically if you talk to members of the house, they would say he was a legislator's legislator. even though he was never a legislator before he got here. which is amazing. and steve latourette is a contrast in so many different ways. you heard so much about him here tonight in terms of the work he
